Have already done the Durkan thing, I'm not at my ideal weight but only 3kg off it or 5kg if I dream big, an yes there is definitely a few centimetres to go on my waist measurement. I'm not exercising as yet but will get back into it soon, I just came to a huge big stop trying to lose weight an exercising, couldn't get motivated to do anything. A blood test( I have High Cholesterol) an the doc telling me I needed to get the weight off, if I want to stay pill free. Left me wondering what to try next when I came across the sweet poison book I also got the other 2 books and it all made sense. So no more low carb or low fat, which is why I'm not stressing about the weight loss it will happen if its meant too, an I feel 100% better since giving up sugar.
Hi Debra,
There are many good reasons for exercising. But losing weight is not one of them because it makes you hungry and you generally ingest more calories than you just lost. Also, it converts fat to muscle and muscle is heavier than fat!
DG suggests that if you put on weight unexpectedly, and maybe if you have struck a plateau, try going low-carb for a while.
Re BFL I'd concentrate on weight loss before looking too deeply into its recommendations.
