I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but I bought some crumpets from Aldi this week, and I had a quick look at the nutritional panel in store and saw that they only had 1.8g /100g of sugar. When I got home iread the ingredients list and to my delight I saw that they have dextrose and no cane sugar in them.
I think these are agreat find. Crumpets are great with butter and Vegemite or even bream cheese.
