Can we stew our own apples with just water to use in pies or with cream for a treat?  On the discussion forum it is not recommended but there is apple pie in the quit plan book.

My kids gave me a pie maker for xmas and apple pie and meat pies in the freezer are a quick and easy meal or snack.  We microwave them for a couple of minutes (soggy) then pop them in the pie maker for a couple of minutes and they crisp up nicely just like the fresh ones.  The puff pastry has next to no sugar and you know what you put in them.

I think it is ok, as long as you don't peel the apples.
