I thought Corn Syrup was bad too.  I checked the book and it's definitely in the bad list but may be referring to the high fructose type.  I actually found a mayo that contain corn syrup... although i didn't quite like the taste of it.

sorry for being slack with the reply on this thread ... but looks like Janelle's got the good mail  :-)

By the way over the holidays I noticed a new dextrose based treat for kids in our local IGA.  Here's a photo:

Our little taste tester love them!

    Cheers

    Hey David

I am a little confused as I bought these only to find when I got home the second ingredient is corn syrup which is on the bad list.  Will have to start taking glasses to read the little writing which they love to put white on clear.  Do you think they know how hard it is to read? HA HA

I think Corn syrup is ok, but high fructose corn syrup is the bad one (HFCS) I have just loaned my book to someone, so can't check up :-(  Maybe David can verify this.

I did find this snippet below on the net, so it looks like Corn syrup is glucose, and HFCS is turned into fructose

High fructose corn syrup is made from corn syrup through an enzymatic action that converts the dextrose sugar (in the corn syrup) into fructose sugar. HFCS is sweeter than corn syrup, which is why you find it in so many foods both processed and fast food, and especially sodas (the corn syrup isn’t sweet enough to be used in sodas).

Yes Suzanne that is also my problem.  Some else has my book.  I have in my wallet the table of good bad and your choice of sugars and the corn syrup is on the bad list.  Would they list HFCS different to corn syrup.

I think I will buy another book so I have one to loan everyone.  One friend I saw when at a luncheon bought if on the way home.  Another got one and lost a kg in a week so is wrapped.  She says she feels guilty eating bread and potato after being on body trim for two year.

Please help David and I hope they are OK as I also got Grovvy lolly pops which have the same ingredients.
