Pectin is on of those soluble fibres that acts as a prebiotic & gets broken down into short-chain fatty acids in the lower intestine.
Is it one of the ones we should avoid?
Obviously its fine in its natural packaging, i.e. fruit & veg. But its added to other things as well apparently.
Are ALL soluble fibres to be avoided if not in their original state? How about psyllium?
