Hi everyone again,  sorry to repeat a question.  I should have read right through them all.  Saunders Malt Extract is available in Coles Supermarket and is in a cream coloured tin with a red circle around the top.  Quite expensive (about $8.50 for 1kg) but very tasty for us who are just getting rid of the very sweet taste of sugar and honey.  I too used to have a spoonful of malt when I was young. Hopefully I will be weaned off it soon too.
