I had thought I'd read in your book that alcohol had minimal effects on the body, from a fat retention/addtion point of view, due to the fermentation process. There was an article in the Herald Sun "Fat traps - how to lose the last kilos" and in it it states that "white wine in particular is chockfull of sugar. If you're having one or two glasses each night, you're in deep trouble etc etc.

What are your thoughts on this?

Alcohol itself has no sugar in it but lots of wines are sweet because not all of the sugar has been fermented out.

Trust your tongue. If the wine tastes sweet the sugar is still present.
