    Hi David (and everyone else)

I have found some 'Coopers Brewing Sugar' that lists the only ingredients as 'Dextrose and Maltodextrin'.  Is this okay to use?

I can see on the side of the packet that you can also get 'Coopers Dextrose' which I'm assuming is what you're saying we should be using, however given the difficulty in finding any can you advise as to the safety of using the dextrose/maltodextrin combination.

    Cheers,

    Rachel

its safe to use but it wont taste very nice - dextrose is not very sweet, but maltodextrin is not sweet at all - also none of the recipes have been tested using that product, so they might not work! ... Its strange that you have a brewing shop that has one but not the other ..?

    Cheers

    David.

    Thanks David,

I've been using it to make Beth's Choc Fudge Squares and they taste great.  The mixture prior to cooking is to sweet I was worried it did have sugar in it.  Thanks for your reply.

    Cheers,

    Rachel
