My question concerns the impact of sugar/processed carbs on a child's cognitive ability. I have a 10 year old grand daughter who has struggled all her life with her weight and is now really struggling at school. Her parents have definitely embraced the concept of reduction in sugar and increasing of healthy fats to a degree, however like many young families these days they are time poor and ready made snacks are easy. Just wondering if there is any research out there that would show a correlation between sugar intake and loss of cognitive ability in children and whether there are some individuals who are extremely carb sensitive?
