I quit sugar about 2 years ago and within 6 months lost approx 10 kilos with no exercise, just not having anything with more than 3gms per 100.  In august I gave up smoking and started eating the poisons again and gained 12 kilos.  I have again quit the sugar the same as I had done before but the weight is still increasing not decreasing?  I have also stared walking for 1hr every weekday.  Any tips would be appreciated.

    Hi Wendy

The facts you have provided do not factor in things like age and lifestyle.

You could keep a food diary for 2 weeks and look at your caloric intake. Alcohol may be a contributing factor, as it has a lot of calories.

Hormones can be a factor - are you perimenopausal? Are you pregnant? Some women with polycystic ovarian syndrome lay down fat more efficiently than others.

There are lots of metabolic reasons why people gain weight, so if your review of your diet shows you are not overeating, I would consult a doctor, but only after giving your body time to adjust to all of the changes you are putting it through. We alos do not lose weight as quickly the older we get.

Good on you for giving up smoking. Latest research shows it is healthier to be a little overweight than a smoker.

    Kindest regards,

    Heidi

Thanks for the feedback,  Yes I might be at that age where it is all going to stack on and yea I am no where near as strict with it as I was when I originally quit sugar.
