I can't find dextrose. have tried health food shops and they want to sell me something else. Is it known by other names? Any clues?

Where do you live? If yoou have a WW or Coles it is usually available in the Home-Brew section of the supermarket; about $3 a kilo.

But just make sure it's only dextrose as they also sell "brewers' dextrose/sugar" which contains other stuff.

I think that some health-food stores stock it to.

Hi Ngarita,

Dextrose is available at Home Brewer Supply shops. These can be found all around the place as plenty of people enjoy the hobby of Home Brewing. Dextrose is sold in varying sizes of packaging from 5kg upwards and the more you buy the cheaper per kg it is. I buy a 15kg bag and repack it into 3kg lots for storage. You'll definitely find it in these stores. All the best.
