The two products that have been recommended to me to use with David's recipes are Glucol and Dextrose.  Although I live in the suburbs of Melbourne I have not found either product in either Coles supermarket or IGA supermarket or a Health Food Shop.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Look for dextrose  in the home-brew section of the supermarkets or go to a home-brew shop. Just make sure it's pure glucose with no additives as they also sell a brewers' dextrose with other stuff included.  You can buy liquid glucose in supermarkets but it's yukky stuff to use. You can also buy glucose tablets at the chemist, but they wouldn't help much for cooking :-)

Some of the coles and iga stores won't have a home brew section, coles and iga stores here in Brisbane don't sell it either.  I can only get it from Big W or Woolworths.

According to the Yellow Pages there are 20 home-brew shops in Greater Brisbane  and 36 in Greater Melbourne. It shouldn't be  too much of a problem to find one near you.

I have fortunate enough to get glucose powder from our local healthfood shop.  It took a bit of finding but this may be an avenue to explore.

Hello Sandra, buying glucose from any health food outlet is very expensive.
Here is a link to a directory of home brew shops in the Melbourne area........one will surely be in or near your area, click on it and it will take you directly to the directory

Here in Perth I have had no luck getting Dextrose at any supermarket or stores like Big W. However I go to a Home Brew store and can buy it at below $4.00 a kilo or, if I want to buy in bulk 15kg for just over $30.00.
At my local Health food store they tried to sell me Dextrose at $31.00 per kilo!
    Its definitely worth checking prices.
