Rice bran oil

    Can anyone tell me if rice bran oil is one of the good oils?

    do you have a reference I could consult?

    The info on the bottle lists it as having 100g Fat total per 100ml, of which 25g is Saturated fat which is good fat, Olive oil has only 15g per 100.

    Its okay I have found the information required - yes it is BAD oil with 34% of Linoleic acid.

    What oil is suggested for high temperature cooking please. Olive Oil doesn't have a high smoking point and I did get a bottle of flax oil and it says not to heat it.

    Hi Jenny, David uses lard and beef fat, we use coconut oil and duck fat for high temperature cooking. Yes, flax oil is great for salads, but oils tend to change in a nasty way when they are heated. Something about trans fats I think.
