I've been off sugar since the middle of August, and have lost around 10kgs, but now the weight isn't come off as fast. Unfortunately I feel like my health is falling apart, and I'm wondering if it's the lack of sugar?
I'm eating pretty healthily without sugar, and I really don't miss it. When I see sugary foods now I very rarely have any thoughts about eating them anymore. I don't have cravings either. I have slow-releasing carbs, oatmeal and berries for brekky, vegetables and grains, meats. I've had sugary foods on two occasions now, and it goes straight through and I have tummy upsets for a couple of days - I went on a high-energy diving trip and ate quick-energy foods like muesli bars and bananas and I'm still recovering... has anyone else had this happen?
Also now, however, I've got absolutely no energy. Terrible, brain-sapping fatigue that I've never experienced before. No zest for life whatsoever. In addition, I'm finding any cuts and scrapes I have take a long while to heal and tend to get infected much more than before.
I'm taking 2g Vitamin C and 2g fish oil daily, and also on anti-depressants. I wonder if the lack of sugar has started righting my system and that the anti-depressants are not now needed, and I'm sort of OD'ing on them, and throwing my system out of alignment?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
