Thanks for everyone who shared their challenges here. I'm just starting my second withdrawal. I lasted 3 weeks the first time before a holiday derailed me.... In that 3 weeks I hadn't noticed any changes in weight or appetite (but I was feeling healthier) but am determined to try for a lot longer this time.

If you keep falling off the wagon repeatedly it must be due to some emotional blockage. The old  saying is true . .  the system works if you work the system.  I  suggest you find a counsellor to deal with whatever is undermining your resolve.  It may be hard to be honest with yourself as to what you get out of failing. A skilled person may be able to help you find that out and deal with it.

I was lucky . .  it was absolutely no trouble to follow the guidelines. I lost 10kg in 6 months and, more importantly, 10cm off my waist measurement.

Another option may be to link up with a successful member . .  a sort of "buddy" system. So you could monitor each other's progress. If he/she lived in the same area that would be a bonus as you could meet.
