For heart health I would choose the butter, and for taste as well. I've read quite a lot on this topic, and believe as firmly as one can that a little butter everyday is good. But not to go overboard! It is harder to spread cold from the fridge, but I just cut a thin piece and bring it out of the fridge earlier than I need it, finicky I know, but I love it enough to do that most of the time.
I take a cue from the Europeans who have great food cultures, that you need to care about your food, and not get caught up in the hurry-hurry culture where a quick smear of marge is more efficient than being patient with lovely fresh butter. It's a shift in your mindset, caring about your food.
