I have been sugar free for 4 weeks now. the first week was dreadful and i hated everyone and slept days away due to terrible headaches. It did get easier. In the 1st couple of weeks i lost2-3 kilos but now feel it has come to a stop, although my body and mind both feel "sharper". i have a lot of weigh to lose so need to be patient.  I am certainly feeling better and not even tempted to eat sugar. I am interested to read others experiences.

Hang in there baby!  It WILL get better :-)  And you will get a lot of support here. Which of David's books have you read?  Have you seen Dr Robert Lustig's Youtube lecture? If not I highly recommend it:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM

i have read sweet poison. i am five weeks in today and still feel all over the place. I am not tempted to eat sugar but still extremely disappointed about the lack of weigh loss as my diet has changed considerably. i feel much better and i guess while my weigh loss has been rather insignificant there has not been any gain. I would love to lose some weigh to give me a confidence boost as i don't feel that i can preach the good news until people see results.

Hi.  I lost 10 kg in a month and 16 overall.  What you need to remember is, if you were trying to lose weight before, odds are low that your diet was as horrible as mine was.  The main way I saw results was that I plain eat a whole lot less than I used to, because I find I feel full quickly and am happier to stop when I feel full ( I was never full before ).  Either way, the results are far wider than just weight loss.  Do you feel better ? Are you sleeping better ? Are you finding that you feel full now where you felt hungry all the time before ? All of those are true for me, and those are the things I talk about to people, although I will admit, the weight loss IS the reason people are asking.

Yes i do feel better , much better, i think perhaps i have forgotten how crappy i felt before . Certainly not eating as much and am feeling full and content . i guess that is why i should be losing more weigh than i have lost.. thanks for your reply
