Neither Sweet Poison or Sweet Poison Quit Plan have a lot to say about diabetes other than to explain [SP] how the two types develop. I know from the experience of relatives that you have to balance the level of glucose in your blood - my cousin Jimmy often eats a barley-sugar during the night.
I don't understand by what your comment about the dietitians means. Aren't they the experts in relation to treating diabetes? Do you take insulin? In any case, because of the need to carefully control your BGL you might not need to cut glucose from your diet. But I can't imagine that avoiding fructose would be harmful.
Some people claim that Type-2 diabetes can be cured - see Sugar Dreams by Monica Colmosjo. But I think, despite their shortcomings, you need to accept the guidance of your medical advisers.
