This seems like the wrong forum to discuss this, but...

David did not get a mention, his book did not get a mention, and the story was pretty rough ( for example, it did not talk about appetite control at all, it said that sugar is as bad a drug as cocaine without explaining what that means, did not mention fructose, etc, so the forums afterwards were full of people getting upset that cocaine is more dangerous than sugar, and arguing that our bodies need sugar, and that there's sugar in milk, etc.  It was a bit of a free for all, obtuse people not willing to listen, I was sorry I bothered.  It was interesting to see that there's enough people telling the same story that they don't need to go to David every time, there's more and more evidence coming from more and more people about the dangers of sugar in our diets.

Completely agree with PP. The program probably did more damage than good I feel, as it made out the whole "quite sugar" idea as just another fad diet.

The appetite control and addiction sides to the argument were totally missed. It was a really superficial report and I am also sorry I bothered!!

It's an interesting object lesson in how the media works.  If they decided there was more milage to be made in making us look like crackpots, they care more about ratings than truth.  The US 60 Minutes story was a lot better, though.  It's available online.

I stopped watching 60-Minutes about 20 years ago. It's junk TV.

All TV is junk, in my view.  I mostly watch 60 Minutes b.c I watch it with my father in law, although I had seen the US 60 minutes 'sugar' story and it was decent so I was definitely especially interested in this one.
