I've been attempting this eating plan for a few months & made no progress until I convinced my wife of the benefits. I managed to start doing it properly just under 4 weeks ago. I wanted to see my cholesterol tablets go out the window & stopped taking them some 8 weeks ago. I just had my 1st blood test result. On the tablets the reading was consistently about 4.8 - 5.2. After just 4 weeks the reading is now 4.3 and I've lost 4kg's as a bonus.

I am exceedingly happy with the result. Maybe in a few months I'll be able to stop the blood pressure tablets as well. How fantastic it will be to be medication free at 57 years young.

    Thanks

You remind me of Martin Luther King's famous quotation form an old negro spiritual . .  "I'm free! I'm free! Thank God at last I'm free!"

    Congratulations :-)

That is awesome.  All my friends keep telling me 'this fad will pass' and I'm thinking 'why would I want to feel like I used to, again ?'.

"Quitting" sugar is not unlike quitting nicotine in some ways. It is arguable which is the most addictive, in the sense of habituation.  The great thing about quitting smoking, which you are echoing, is that from time-to-time you might feel like a cigarette you don't want to go back to being a nicotine addict. Sounds like you, having found freedom,  don't want to go back to being a "sugarholic".. . . . .  so keep your resolve and enjoy your new lifestyle :-)
