Hullo everybody/ After hearing David's presentation on ABC radio I bought the book. My wife and I have been looking into it and finding the arguments just as persuasive on the page [although neither of has any specialist qualifications in the nutrition field]. Neither of us has a sweet tooth and we thought we were being reasonably cautious about sugars; but it appears we couldn't 'see' or know how to look for most of them.
Our objectives are, first, weight loss and, secondly, healthier eating in the broader sense, for the health benefits it brings. So we are very, very new experimenters with the sugar-free approach and still learning to reconstruct our shopping list.
First question to occur: long-term converts to marg. instead of butter, we are now wondering if a plant based-marg, high in fats but showing zero sugars - olive-oil based Nuttilex in particular - would be consistent with our new approach.

All advice and information is welcome as we set off to try out David's recommended approach.// Brian

Which book did you buy . .  Big Fat Lies? If so, you will most likely switch to butter. I did so nearly 12 months ago with NO INCREASE in my LDL levels or weight. Polyunsaturated fats are BAD guys.

Nuttlex-Olive has 33% of them :-(  Your call!

Many thanks, JohnN. We bought the SP Quit Plan book, and we are still working through it. Grateful for your tip. Having now got further in I see a reference to our question that bears out your answer. Thanks again. / Brian
