    Hello

After reading David's book I have decided that we are going to go sugar free.

I told the family what we where doing, they just sat there and went yeah yeah mum on another diet, but I think they realised this time when I cleaned out the pantry that I meant business. JT who is 13, was horrified and declared that he will probably starve to death, I assured him that he would not. To ease the pain we made the chocolate cake with the hard icing which seamed to take the sting away.

So today was our first day and it seemed to go well. We will see how we are all going at the end of the week and wether JT has starved to death.

Onya!  read David's blog for his family journey in a sugar-free world.

The early teens are difficult times to "train' kids . . . 2 or 3 is easier :-)

But your CAN do it. One method is "my way or the highway", at least for 18yo's :-))

I think that's what everyone thought when I first started my journey... 17 months later I'm still here and now everyone is in full 100% support and they've seen the changes.  My two kids are quite young so I can change their diet quite easily, however teenagers may be a little different so I think baking lots of dextrose treats might be the way.  When I'm cooking I make big batches of things, but into individual servings and freeze them, so much more handy for lunches and snacks!  The free forum has heaps of recipes http://sweetpoison.myfreeforum.org/forum4.php

    Day 3

Everyone seems to be coping quite well, leader of the opposition is even eating lunch which in all the years we have been together is not something he does.

I asked JT (13yr old son) how he was coping and he said he was doing really well. I thought wow this is great he has not starved to death, but low and behold he has confessed to his sister that he ate some tiny teddies and has been getting other sugar snacks from friends at school. I am considering locking him in his room for a couple of months and just tossing him the food he can eat. But I am sure there is a law against that. Anyway I am sure he will get there.
