    Hello,
I have just joined as a member. I have also just purchased Davids two books via the internet. After seeing the Sunday night report. Very interesting!
I was just wondering if anyone could please advise me of where to start my detox.
    I am asking because.
I live in a small very remote mining town in the Pilbara in Western Australia, its called Newman. And due to my remote location my books will not arrive for a few weeks. I even tried to purchase the books as an e book, but couldn't find a copy. Perhaps someone could suggest if I can purchase the book in this format? Then I will give the other book already ordered as a gift.
I have searched this site, and the internet for information regarding the detox, I even asked for advice on the face book page to no avail.
Until I read the books, I don't know where to start with my detox. I imagine that I have to cut out any sugar I add to coffee etc, just in regards to foods on the detox, do i just try and eat foods with low sugar content?
I am desperate to get started so I can begin to lose weight, as I have more surgery I need to have done. The surgery is related to my previous surgery,3 years ago, I had a spinal cord tumour removed T12-L5.
Would appreciate any information that you may be willing to share.
    Thank you
    Shaani :)

    Did you read this: http://www.howmuchsugar.com/Default.aspx?pageId=351428?

Start by eating real food eg meat, veg, full fat dairy, prepared by you, and avoid sugary and packaged food.

    Continue.

    Hi! Hello,
Don't panic in your effort to start losing weight this way. It takes awhile to put weight on and will take awhile to get it off. My advice is to cut out sugar - period (if you can) learn to make your own sauces, dressing etc.. find recipes without sugar David has many on his website, use  Dextrose as a replacement for sugar, drink coffee made with milk as the milk is already sweet enough. Buy products with as little or no sugar as possible.
Be patient and it will all come together.
I have gone on to herbal teas as you don't have milk or sugar in them and they are very refreshing and drink sufficient amounts of water per day.
    Happy Days.......

AND . .  either photocopy the good & bad lists from SPQP  or just become an avid label reader.

Avoid any non-dairy products with more than 2% "sugars" unless they on the OK list (e.g. maltose). Dairy products are largely lactose which is OK but check the ingredients for fructose-laden products . . . fruit or juices and so on.  Yogurt up to 4.7% is OK because that's lactose.

Yep, natural (aka non-processed) foods you prepare yourself is the way to go. Better, cheaper, simpler and, in the end, more enjoyable.

    And don't give up!
