Hi I was trying to buy some dextrose powder today but couldn't find any.  The people in the health food suggested xylitol.  It is not a sugar but is used as a sweet alternative.  Does any one have any info on this or if you read this David is it OK to use

Jennifer ... Xylitol is fine from a fructose perspective ... I talk about it in quite a bit of detail on p.183-4 of the new book.

    Cheers

    David.

I've been looking into Xylitol too, however I've discovered that nearly all of the brands available here are imported from China and are made out of genetically modified corn cobs.

I have found an alternative, though: this brand is made from birch and is from Finland, apparently.  http://www.biomedcafe.com.au/index.php?itemId=1320&process=shop/productView.php  I've ordered some, and will see how it goes.
