    Hi there

    I'm new to all this...

I'm a married Mum to two boys (toddlers about to turn 3 and 2) and studying to be a primary teacher.

I've been looking for better ways to eat for a while now.  I try to be healthy, stay away from high fat high processed 'unnatural' foods but wasn't losing the weight I wanted to (about 10kg).  I go to the gym at least 3 times a week - have tried weights and/or classes - nothing working.  I signed up for weight watchers again a few weeks back but their point system seemed so skewed to me - that I could be eating healthy whole foods but still be way over in the points or could eat heavily processed sweetened versions of food under the 'low fat' label and be doing the 'right' thing.  It didn't make sense.

I then heard David of ABC 612 and decided to give it a go for myself and my kids.  I am still trying to convince my chocoholic husband to even read the book, let alone give it a try!

People seem very sceptical but interested.  The proof will be in the (sugar-free) pudding - so here's hoping a healthier slimmer me is not too far away...

BTW - My boys go to daycare and I am trying to get them to eat 'sugar-free' there [food is provided].  So I am taking in plain yoghurt on days when they have yoghurt and/or custard.  Took some banana muffins today for them to have instead of the raisin toast afternoon tea scheduled.  The director asked me whether they could have Milk Arrowroots stating that they couldn't have much sugar as "we all grew up eating those".  We were both surprised to see sugar as the second ingredient and the percentage of over 20% per 100g.  Maybe I have changed their minds about giving these out but I don't think so.

Anyways - that is enough for now.

Hi Janet, Welcome.  I can really sympathise about the daycare thing.  Good on you for taking it in your own hands.  I haven't tried to do that yet, but you're providing a good model for me..!
Yes, I was amazed the arrowroots were in the top 10 listing for bikkies.  I might buy some of the lattices and take them in to show them.
I have about 10 to lose to (2 down, 8 to go now!)
Interesting journey this one.  I can't tell you how unbelievably good I feel nearly 4 weeks in.
    Anthea
