    Hi Everyone
I've only just joined and my book hasn't arrived yet so the only knowledge I have at the moment is what I heard when David was on Radio 702 Sydney. But I have a couple of quick questions - please forgive me if these are answered in the book. Based on what I have read in other people's posts it looks as though it's OK to substitute glucose powder for sugar in tea and coffee. Is that right? And, if fructose is the bad guy then why is OK to eat fruit?
    Thanks

    Hi Tony,

I've just finished David's books and both your questions are covered. In a nutshell, it is OK to substitute glucose for sugar but only after you complete fructose withdrawal. I would be interested in hearing other's views on this though, as I notice there are people on the forum indicating they use the glucose recipes very early. Personally I am happy to wait. I'm now finished day 5 and it has been much easier than I thought it would be. As for eating whole fruits, there are two things I got from his books, firstly our bodies can cope with a small amount of fructose and secondly, the fibre in the whole fruit reduces the negative effects of the fructose. It is important to understand that it isn't OK to drink fruit juice. David's Sweet Poison Quit Plan focuses on the addiction and beating the addiction and includes some glucose recipes. It only gives a summary of why fructose isn't good. If you want more detailed explanation and exploration of research his Sweet Poison Why Sugar Makes You Fat book is well worth the read.

    Good luck,

    Helen
