I'm interested to know if there's a connection. I thought I had read somewhere recently that too much sugar can raise BP.
Does anyone know?
Thanks

Isabel,
There's quite a lot of recent research which shows a strong link between high blood pressure and fructose (sugar) consumption. The mechanism is likely to be related to the spike in the production of Uric Acid and the dip in the plasma nitric oxide levels caused by fructose. In short - It is highly likely that sugar in the diet will give you high blood pressure.
Cheers
David.
