Hi there,, thanks for all the info in here, it was great to get on here and sign up after watching you on TV last night (A Current Affair) my husband and I jumped straight up and went through our cupboards!! It was like a switch went off and we knew "sugar" was what we have been doing wrong all this time.  Can you tell me if pasta and things like two minute noodles are ok, as they are Carbs but no sugar content?  just a bit of a silly question i am sure but last night on the TV I thought that you look at the Carb lable to determine the sugar content??... oh this is not making sense is it?

Pasta is fine ... (usually) the (processed) sauce is not.  With Noodles, it will depend on the brand, some add sugar (for 'flavour') so it is best to check the label.

On the label, Sugar will appear as a subheading under Carbohydrate (if the product is made in Australia).

Foreign labeling laws are different and some products made overseas will not necessarily break-out sugars separately.  If you're wondering about any particular product don't hesitate to post it on the forums ... and someone will be sure to let you know!

    Cheers and welcome

    David.

HI David, I understand that the sugar is under the carbohydrate, but do we have to watch the amount of carbohydrate on the packets and if so, what is the ratio please.
