Hi Debra, My husband is not having any problems as yet with withdrawal symptoms, I have had some cold like symptoms, and do get some cravings about 4pm each arvo. I have read some different info and was a bit worried when I read that it may take months to lose the feeling for sweetness. We were hoping it would be about 2-3 weeks.
I notice that I am not needing cake biscuits, when they are offered outside our home. I have been dieting for most of my life, hubby only started to try and loose weight after some foot surgery. It is very good that we are doing this together. He is gobsmacked at the amount of sugar in cereals, biscuits etc. We are having trouble with feeling guilty when we have full cream milk and butter. I am having natural greek yoghurt to help with my calcium needs for osteoporosis.
We have been having plain rice cakes when we need something with some avocado or cream cheese spread. I hope that is OK.
Thanks for advice on tinned seafood. We have lost about 1/2 kilo so far, but not worried too much about that. If you take that over a year, it sounds better.
