How much sugar is allowed per day on average ?

    Just joined as a member today.

    Have I missed something in reading the 3 books because My question is: How much sugar is allowed per day on average ?

    I think the idea, Barry, is wean yourself off sugar altogether.  Once you've done that it tastes ABSOLUTELY AWFUL - a poison which is what it is.  We now avoid anything with sugar in it and if we need to use a substitute then it's glucose powder, e.g. for the bread which is homemade here.  Yesterday there was an article on page 2 of our local paper (The Examiner in Launceston) about the dangers of fructose, how it is thought to be making people fat and unhealthy, mainly through destroying our natural curbs on appetite.  The message is getting out there!  Yippee!  Hassanah Wilkinson

    David states that you need 10g a day of fructose - it helps the glucose penetrate the cell walls. You can get that from 2 pieces of 100g fruit.  Any "sugars" you ingest may be safely regarded as 50% fructose. Just don't go over 10g fructose per day.
