Hi, Pauline here, like a lot of other's I am sick of YoYo Diets, heard about David Gillespie on Sunrise and decided to buy his book, Sweet Poison. I only need to lose around 4kg. My husband is also overweight, by at least 6 kg, owing to working FIFO in the Mines as a Truck Driver,1 week day shift 1 week night shift consisting of 13 hours a day, travelling from camp to trucks each day, this doesn't allow much spare time to go to the gym etc.Choice of food is difficult at times, so thought it best if he avoided most things that have sugar.
Would appreciate any feed back and suggestions to have to offer.

Hi Pauline, My husband is doing the same work we gave up sugar about 4 months ago he hasn't been perfect with no sugar at all but has lost 2kg an neither of has put any weight on in that time which for us is a good thing, he finds having a piece of cheese an carrot stick after dinner in the mess keeps him from the desserts, so its just a matter of what works for you.

Pauline, as covered in the book, the gym is good for you, but does not help with weight loss unless you also starve yourself.  It sounds like his situation is not ideal, but, when I started, I lost 10 kg the first month and 6 the second ( which was all I needed to lose ).  My point is, the second month I was in the US, and unable to be perfectly sugar free.  I still did what I could, and just not drinking soft drink or eating dessert cut my sugar by, I would guess, at least 80%.  There's sugar in bread, and in tomato sauce, but there's more in Coke and ice cream.  So, if he does what he can, he may struggle with the addiction for longer, b/c he can't stop eating any sugar at all, but I'm sure he will lose weight.
