Sharon, I am at 86-87 kg, and I am not really watching my weight, except out of interest.  So, I don't care if having a treat once or twice a week, means I weigh a little more, although honestly, it's not working out that way for me.  It's good advice in general, but, I've never had a target weight.

I have a Sunbeam ice cream machine, the recipe was cream, milk, egg yolks, cocoa and dextrose.  The ice cream was churned in the machine, I'm not sure how it would go without the machine.

In regard to lollies I don’t touch any shop based lollies any more. Before discovering David’s book I used to eat heaps having an addiction more for the Jelly lollies which as well as having sugar in them were also coated with sugar. I just don’t go near any shop lollies no matter what they are or seem okay. Like those of you who have been sharing this post on Lollies I get a yearning for a sweet now and then. David says once a sugar addict always a sugar addict, being the same as any other addiction. I overcome this by keeping Jelly Snakes or Cubes. Maybe some newer members may not have seen this as the recipe posted for this was by a member on 2 Dec 2010, titled “Jelly Snakes & Cubes“ and is still there in Recipe section. I keep these in my fridge most of the time and have a nibble when I feel the sweet urge. Also now and then I make up the recipe posted by a member on the 27 Jul 2010 in the Recipe section too titled “Yummy toffee Corn“ and you are into it before it has even cooled it is so yummy. The other sweet treat I make now and then is Peanut Brittle. I haven’t been able to locate the post for it but would have been around the same time as others above were posted in 2010. I have the recipe if anyone is interested. It is very moorish. Someone recently posted a recipe for “Fructose Free Peanut Brittle” on 20 Dec 2011 and a bit more involved in the method and uses a Sweet Thermometer from memory and turns out well others have said but can’t get back into that site that was posted in the note to re-look as my Internet Security I use is telling me it contains Malware and if I had used it earlier safely may now have been hacked into so didn’t proceed any further. This recipe I use is more simple and just uses the cold water testing for the toffee but you need to watch closely as can turn very quickly. I have been on this sugar free way of eating for over two years now and eventually lost 10 kgs that took me gradually over a period of about 15 months to get there and now have plateaued out. Could still loose a bit more but my body seems to happy at this level. My appetite is much more settled and controlled and feel much better all around. I am in my senior years and finding I am wearing cloths now I had put aside quite some years back now.

    All the best Lyn
